Biography

Evan Sneed (he/him or they/them) is a Ph.D. student and Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). They use planetary models to study the long-term habitability of different planets and search for signs of life on other worlds. At UCR, they are a member of the Alternative Earths Astrobiology Center and are advised by Professor Tim Lyons and Professor Eddie Schwieterman.

Evan is also an observer on the Green Bank Telescope for the University of California, Berkeley’s SETI Research Center, which works in collaboration with Breakthrough Listen. They are also an affiliate member of the Penn State Extraterrestrial Intelligence Center.
